2009 Mazda Furai

January 16, 2008

I feel it does have a little bit of the Mazda design in it.. plus lots of fish for dinner and watching too much Batman… the Mazda Furai photos were unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show 2008.

“Furai takes Mazda’s unique Nagare (Japanese for “flow”) design language a step further as it is translated into a concept car based on an American Le Mans Series (ALMS) racing car. The car utilizes the Courage C65 chassis the company campaigned in the ALMS series only two seasons ago, and the 450-hp three-rotor rotary engine that distinguishes it from anything else on the track.”

Mazda Nagare

November 29, 2006

Mazda’s design division has invented a new surface language called Nagare for introduction at this year’s Greater Los Angeles International Auto Show. Japanese for ‘flow’ and the embodiment of motion, the team was to invent a novel means of registering motion in vehicles whether they’re moving or still.

Foreign language to me… what I see, gills, ribs, dune…nice
