BMW Lovos

September 26, 2009

BMW Lovos concept uses solar technology. The body of Lovos consists of 260 identical interchangeable particles contained in the hinges on the overall structure. These individual elements are mobile and can be closed, as fish scales, or open.

Scales operate as an air brake, and turn with the sun, gathering energy through solar cells located on them. 12 scales, closing each wheel is also functional: As soon as the car begins to move, they change their position, moving into the wheel, creating a semblance of turbines.

Vertical Park is a modular skyscraper made up of a series of stacking units. The solar-powered structure contains sky-gardens in addition to spaces for living and working, and recycles all of its own water.

Each module of the Vertical Park can be configured to provide space for public and private use, water and solar collection, and urban farming.

This allows for flexibility in design, size, and location – including the potential for relocation throughout the city or the world.

Zira Island

February 1, 2009

Zira Island is an architectural landscape based on the natural landscape of Azerbaijan.

This new architecture not only recreates the iconic silhouettes of the seven peaks, but more importantly creates an autonomous ecosystem where the flow of air, water, heat and energy are channeled in almost natural ways.

A mountain creates biotopes and eco-niches, it channels water and stores heat, it provides viewpoints and valleys, access and shelter. The Seven Peaks of Azerbaijan are not only metaphors, but actual living models of the mountainous ecosystems of Azerbaijan.
