I always think the Polycom pictured below was an amazing design… but technology wise… it seems to be inert. I thought today the Callpod Phoenix Bluetooth® mobile conferencing system and Dragon™ Bluetooth® headsets to be the future of conference and wireless calls.

The Phoenix™ is a patented Bluetooth® mobile conferencing system which connects 5 Bluetooth® headsets together so when you make a call, all five participants will be speaking in full duplex with the party of the other end. It also supports push-to-talk communication between participants, making it an ideal communications system for retail and restaurants.

Dragon™ is a 100+ meter range Bluetooth® headset that allows you to roam around your office or home without having to carry your phone. Advanced dual-microphone noise suppression gives callers a crystal clear conversation even if you are at an airport, noisy restaurant or car.

The Polycom SoundStation still look the prettier one…

Bluetrek Sense Headset

November 20, 2007

Wireless bluetooth headset without the buttons. It has a soft talk button using the touch-sensitive technology and a built-in voice alert that reminds you of the actions in your headset such as: redial the last number, reject a call, if your headset is connected / disconnected from your headset and etc. With Luxurious piano glass finishing and a simple design… nice.

Bluetooth headsets are the perfect candidate for solar power. They don’t use much juice and are pretty much always out in the light. The Iqua BHS-603 SUN headset claims that it is the World’s first. The 14 gram unit will last for 200 hours on standby, and give nine hours talk time. It is available soon for £50.
Now we can worship the sun with our ears… I want one… but I strongly feel the design could be much much better…

EarSet 2 is the latest handsfree mobile headset from Bang & Olufssen. Real attention has been paid to detail here, and unfortunately, it’s reflected in the price. Still, if you have £211 going spare, you might do well to take advantage of this very stylish and well thought out headset. EarSet 2 is designed with digital signal processing technology that eliminates background noise and boasts very high transmission quality due to its two omni-directional microphones. The shiny aluminium and soft-touch black plastic make an appealing and sensory design, and the ringing melody is even adapted for use close to the ear.
