March 23, 2009

The main space of the villa is located on the basement, perforated by a central patio for family gathering. A private volume floats above, isolated but with a panoramic view.

The main landscape idea, is to suggest a forest within a desert environment. This forest is made out of steel columns that act as “camouflage” for the floating villa’s structure, and also gives the visitors a consciousness of trespassing private area.
ORDOS 100 is a development  in Inner Mongolia. It consist of one hundred 1000sqm villas designed by 100 hip architects in 100 days, selected by Herzog & de Meuron over a master plan developed and curated by Ai Wei Wei (FAKE Design).
