GM unwrapped its new Opel Ampera and will go into production late 2011. The revolutionary Opel Ampera will be the first emission-free, electrically driven automobile in Europe suitable for everyday driving.
It comes with a 16kWh lithium-ion battery that takes the car 60km and a gas powered generator for recharging the battery once depleted while it continues to power the car, that can extend the range to more than 500km.
